CHRISTMAS RED KETTLE DRIVE

by The Salvation Army of Buffalo

Aggie Plunkett

Many of you know I have been working for The Salvation Army the past 12 years.  Everyday, I see first-hand the families in need in Buffalo and its suburbs.  Even families in Orchard Park come to The Salvation Army when they need help.

This holiday season, it is my mission to help make an underprivileged child's Christmas special too!  By giving, you can be helping to provide a hot meal, new toys, or a night of shelter for someone in the greater Buffalo area.  Please join me in making a donation below, or choose to become a fund-raiser, to give others a great Christmas too!  Thank you!

Our family photo was taken this summer in Algonquin Park, Ontario with my mother, my niece and her boyfriend and Adam and his girlfriend.  Unfortunately, Eric and Amanda are living in S. Korea and couldn't join us.  However, we saw them this fall when they made their first trip home.  Amanda is working at the U.S. embassy in Seoul. They have just under two years left at this assignment.

In December of 1891, Captain McFee of The Salvation Army wanted to provide a Christmas dinner for 1,000 people in San Francisco, but had no way to pay for it.  McFee placed a brass pot at the Oakland ferry landing.  Beside the pot, he placed a sign that read, “Keep the Pot Boiling".  Soon, he had all the money he needed to fund the Christmas dinner.
